Cut Plastic bottle in half, then reattach. Answered

Heyah, So yeah....for a project i'm working on I would like to cut a plastic(coke cola) bottle in half, then put some stuff inside, reattach the 2 half's together, then fill it with a liquid.(Don't ask)

My first attempt I used hot glue, but sadly the plastic is super sensitive to heat it would seem and it just simply melted the plastic so I wasn't able to seal it.  I tried to even let the glue cool down, then apply it but that didn't work either.

Any ideas?

You could try silicone, no heat required.

You could try a weld. Get a sheet of metal, or a flat-bottomed pan. Put some kitchen foil on it, then your bottle. Heat it gently on a stove, let the bottle melt driven by gravity, turn off the heat and let it cool.
Make sure your fit is tight and your edges as straight as possible.
