Destroy Build Destroy is a TV show for li'l makers Answered

The new Destroy Build Destroy show with Andrew WK almost makes me want to get cable. Teams of kids get to wreck stuff, build from the wreckage, and then wreck some more stuff.

And to think the coolest thing I had growing up was Double Dare.

it's actually pretty cool. There are two teams who get to destroy of blow up stuff then they use the wreckage to build a vehicle that preforms a task. The winners get to blow up the losers vehicle.

*sniff* I'm so proud... pyromaniacs in the making!!!

nice. Look ma! no hands! ( literally)

Holy crab that looks cool. There is one girl who keeps screeching, I want to destroy her.. We need an instructables team !!

That gave me an idea to make a group called destroy rebuild or something like that im not going to but that would be a cool group of stuff that was made from other broken stuff

I was about to say that the one thing that would keep me from watching that show are the screamy girls on it.

what the heck, at 8 sec and at 1:03 they have kids firing an AT-4? I don't know if they are real rockets coming out because i dont see a back blast, and they are $1500.00 USD a shot, but still im jealous :-(

All the explosions are theatrical, no real weapons. I think that even in the US they'd have a hard time using real military hardware... L

Talking real military hardware(or weapons in my case) these cops in this one town here(US) bought and used military weapons, and this church was complaining how the cops should have consulted with them first about buying and using military weapons.

What did they buy? I can imagine the sort of techniques used in the video being applied to car-chases, but I don't think they would... L

I don't know, I heard about it a month or so ago, oh I know is, they're probally the only police unit with military weapons in the US...

That just ruined the show for me )= next your going to tell me Sesame St. isnt real.

Well the perpetual question is "can you tell me how to get to?" I'm not going go looking though... L

........noo.... its all a dirty lie all of it

KOOL, yes. Real, not sure. The second shot (1:00), if you keep 'clicking' right before it happens, you'll see there is NO exhaust coming out of the rear of the tube. So I think it's a 'look-a-like' they keep reloading. But, I'll be watching.

I dont know, but you can get real tubes because they are only one shot and you cant reload them. So they might be firing an old tube with a firework or something in it.

yea for some reason the back blast came out the front :S i think its just a firework and they rigged the cars with C4

Looks lame. Spectacle rather than real content? Why can't we have a low-budget (and thus sustainable) show along the lines of most PBS art, cooking, craft, and woodworking shows; only for High Tech making. I can see a whole series similar to "The Woodwright's shop" on ressurecting old computers or restoring pinball (or other arcade) games. Relatively complex, educational, and expensive, but within the mind's reach, at least for dreaming... Does anyone know what sort of production techniques, equipment, or budget go into that sort of show (New Yankee workshop, Woodwright's shop, Yan Can Cook, etc?) There are makers doing video blogging that are well to the amateurish side of things (production wise), but I'm not visualizing "the next step up" or how much it would cost, or how much up-front prep time it would really take.

Looks fun! Me, I'm currently destroying an old mouse to make an Optical Pen. I hate how drawing on the computer is so unrealistic, and I'm not gonna spring for one of those $400 dollar sketchpads.

oh, can you please make an instructable for that? i dont really want to buy one of those expensive tablets....

I'm working on it from someone else's instructable.

https://www.instructables.com/id/How-to-Make-a-Cheap-Multitouch-Pad/

That will take you to the instructable I'm following, though I'm changing a few things: Adding an old PS/2 mouse so I can click and right-click with ease as Photoshop requires at least left, and optimally needs both left and right. I'll post at least what I need to get you through it, though. Give me, say, 2 or 3 months (I am working on about 4 projects at the moment) and I'll have it up.

Heh,if I was doing it i would just....disassemble it.

What the hell?!? Kids gets to mess around with explosives?!

Then they must be trained explosive experts... lol

Or as Lemonie said (wich ruined the show for me) its hollywood effects

watched it yesterday. wasnt really that great. The kids dont do any of the destruction that I saw. They choose how the item is destructed then 'destructors' go about their business. Then they choose how its going to be built, and it looked like they helped a bit with that, but im not so sure they just werent using screwdrivers and whatnot. I know they werent welding or anything special. and then the destruction at the end looked too hollywood to be something the kids were doing. they shot a mortor at a car and it blew up like there was C4 involved. It sounded like an interesting concept but im not gonna watch it again. THere was a show where teenagers did building stuff, but i cant remember the name. If i do ill come back and post it.

Not too surprised about the destruction, but that's a bummer about the building process.
