The original history is in French, in many sites. You can find it searching "Emile Leary" in Google

Genial!

Personally, I always hated Citroen 2CV and 3CV. Here in Argentina both were named "the fart", because the only person that liked it, is the owner.

What I do not understand is why go to all that trouble of building a motorcycle in the desert when he could easily fix his own car and finish his trip.
Lo que no entiendo es por que se molesto en construir una motocicleta en el desierto cuando el pudo muy facilmente componer su vehiculo y terminar su viaje.

The Spanish version of the story says he was forced to do so because the country's military was not allowed him to go walking routes by car, by the risk that he transported rebel people in it.

I'm somewhat disinclined to believe the story: kick-stand & licence-plate?
It looks like he had a lot of tools and time, and a plan.

The Spanish version of the history says he had serious problem with the plate. In fact, he can use the bike only until the problem arose. After that, he was obliged to abandon it.
