Direction: Climb vs Conventional? Answered
I am new to CNC routers and Fusion 360 so I'm looking for some guidance. The following summarizes what I've experienced and what I've seen in the Lessons you have provided.
For woodworking I was under the impression that conventional direction should be used whenever possible. This was for safety reasons, handhelds getting away from you or wood kickback on a router tables. Lesson 9 describes Direction in detail and states, in his opinion, climb has no advantage when working with wood. For the projects that I have tried the simulated time estimates varied a lot. i.e. 1:44 (climb) vs 32 (conventional). So if this is true that there is no advantage with wood and it results in a heavier load on the CNC and longer runtimes should I stick with conventional direction?
Thanks in advance!
