 What I did was take an image of Instructables  and put that on my blog in a page called FEATURED ON. Check it out here:
designsanddrafts.blogspot.com/p/featured-on.html

.  I doubt if Robot minds you using his likeness, but it would be the polite thing to do to ask for his permission. Maybe Robot will adopt your button as the official one.

You know, I definitely would ask permission, but being not very tech savy, I could not find a place to contact the head people; hence the reason I had to ask my question here. If you could help me out in this area, I'd really appreciate it.

General permission was given for the use of Robot and the logo as long as you were not using them for any kind of profit (eg no making t-shirts for sale).
