Embedded Video Answered

I created an instructable about 6 hours ago and can see it just fine but the embedded youtube video still doesn't appear.  Is something wrong?

Yep I am having the exact same problem.
I was all excited about posting an instructable, but am losing excitement due to not been able to place pictres where I need to or post a video.
Are we doing something wrong?

You're not doing anything wrong, unfortunately. The video embedding issue seems to be something related to recent releases of Firefox, rather than with I'bles site itself, and worse, isn't consistently broken for all users :-(

The I'bles editor doesn't support inlining images. All the images associated with a step are placed at the bottom, below the text. You can use image notes (those yellow pop-up boxes) to annotate the images as necessary.

Thanks for the reply.
Yes you are right I am a FF user. I might have to dig out IE (brush off the spider webs)
I wonder if instructables can allow users to use HTML until this is fixed.

This is an ongoing issue, which appears to be related to recent versions of Firefox, not to the I'bles site itself. Users with paid ("pro") accounts have access to the raw HTML in the editor, and can pasted the embed codes directly.

I'm having the same issue. I'm trying to embed a video from Photobucket. I'm trying using IE and Firefox. Neither works. I paste the Embed code provided from Photobucket, but it never renders when I preview the Instructable.

To paste the embed code, I'm clicking the "Embed Video" button that is provided in the Instructables Editor.

Does the video show up on YouTube itself?

Yes. Now I'm on a different computer/os and have seen 2 different problems in 2 different browsers. The site seems fragile. I'm going back to the windows box to try it again there. Thanks for the reply.

Now I'm back on the windows box. I have seen the [Save and Preview] button not respond on win | firefox, osx | firefox and osx | safari. Is this a known bug?

Not to me - did you use the"embed" data off YouTube, or the URL?
