Film to digital lenses? Answered

So I'm looking to buy the Canon EOS Rebel XS 10.1 mp. I have an old AE-1 and several lenses. Do the lenses work with the new line of Rebels?

You can probably get an adapter to mount the lens.  Google "canon lens adapter" and look for the one you need.  THere are lots of them on ebay.

The problem you are going to have is that the the film lens is going to be manual focus, manual exposure setting and if zoom, manual zoom.  If you're ok with that then it's a deal then.

There is nothing different about the optics of a digital lens and a film lens, as long as you are talking about the same film plane coverage.

It's a nice way to use the lenses you have on hand with out buying a lot of new ones right off.  Plus you can get some really great deals on long film lenses on ebay since most people are quitting film.  Finally you might get that 1500mm lens for $49.99 instead of $1800.

On thing that is different is polarizing filters.  On digital you have to use a circular cut filter.

Thanks! The lenses have an AF setting, so I'll see if that works!
