Fixing an old unframed mirror. Answered

Can I fix a large unframed mirror whose one edge has lost the silver backing? The edge looks black.? Will it be worthwhile to repair the mirror or just throw it away.

I found this link to a company that sells the materials to resilver a mirror. I doesn't look too hard if you don't mind using chemicals and can manage the large mirror.

It might make a good instructable since there doesn't seem to be one already.

If it's a nice mirror that you like it can be resilvered. I don't think its a DIY job though. Call your local glass shop and see who they use.

If all else fails don't throw it away - use it in your garden against a wall to give the appearance your garden is bigger than it is. The image below shows what I mean...
