Gone! Free Copy of Autodesk Sketchbook Pro 2011 Gone! Answered

It's gone! I decided to give it to CaptainMunz. Sketchbook Pro is designed to be used with a graphics tablet, like a Wacom Bamboo, so I think he'll get the best use out of it. Congrats!

Original post:

I received a free copy of Sketchbook Pro from the Instructables HQ for being the top author, but I don't really have a good use for it. So rather than resell it over craigslist, I'd like to pay it forward by giving it away to a deserving member of the Instructables community.

So please write a brief but thoughtful reply or PM about what you would do with a copy of Sketchbook and how it would be a boon to your pursuits. I've never conducted a giveaway before, so I'm going to just take replies for a few days and then take it from there. Once I've decided who to give it to I'll let you know by editing this thread.

A DVD case is lightweight, so I think I can ship it pretty far. Does anyone have an idea of how much it would cost to ship from California to say, India?

I look forward to hearing from you - cheers!

They have a mobile version of Sketchbook, that was the free app on the Amazon App store last November.

With that in mind, lately I've been interested in buying myself some software so I can branch out my creative abilities digitally . . . but holy cow, anything from adobe is so expensive! This could be a good little program to get me headed in the right direction, if only just to see if this is really something worth pursing for me. That's why I'm interested in it. Thanks!

Hey, what a thoughtful thing to do!

I'm quite interested in the software. Instructables has given me the motivation to really push myself creatively for the last few years, which has been good for me in a lot of ways. Mainly--and I'm trying hard not to sound arrogant here--it's convinced me that I'm a waste of talent in my current, non-creative job, and that I've certainly got more to offer the world than what I presently do.

try free GIMP as the photoshop alternative, I use it all the time. or try the free teasers from Autodesk, 123D 3-D modeling program and a few others they offer. They are not bad after you get over the big learning curve.

I've seen this stuff around, just never tried any of it. I'll have to. Thanks!

Any chance the winner can download the program from the Autodesk website? Might only need a CD key or something from you. Might save you some coin, not having to ship, worth a look if you haven't yet.

I know the company does offer "no CD" download versions of their products, I got Sketchbook Express for free with my Wacom Intuos IV graphics tablet that way, for example.

I'm not looking to be entered into the give away, just making a suggestion. It's very generous of you though.

Good luck everyone.

Hi, haven't posted an Instructable yet but am an avid follower. I'd also like to throw my hat in the ring. Retired but very active building recumbent bicycles, wind driven yard art, and my own tools. This would be great to help in all areas.
Cheers

I have been working on some art and this would realy help me become the artist I want to be.
I am pretty low in age so I have a lot of time but not to much experience and this would be like a boost for me

I am seriously into design and manufaturing, but I'm a minor and below working age so I can't get a job. I have a budget of $0, so something like this would seriously help me with my projects.

I can't believe nobody has replied to this comment - this would be grand for any budding artist.

I'm surprised, too - but then again the forums just aren't as rigorously surveyed as the Instructables.

If I got a free copy of Sketchbook Pro, I would be able to be more creative and express my imagination better than I could ever do on paper. I would also try and use this with a Bamboo Tablet I got, but can't use right now with out the proper software. I would love this and hope I can share my work to the Instructable community.

Thanks,
-CaptainMunz
