[HELP ME] Attaching a gear to a skateboard wheel Answered

Hello!

I have a project in mind about making an electric skateboard. I will use skate's wheels to make less resistance, and i plan to attach a gear i upcycled from an old drill(the tube geared on the inside, not the outside) to a skate wheel. THe problem is: HOW??

If you don't know what im talking about its the tube that makes the planetary gears in a drill spin(http://www.m3design.com/media/2008/11/drill_25.jpg  )

on the photos i attached its just super glued to the wheel, so i can figure out a way to attach them..

HELP ME PLEASE!

I have already searched the whole instructable site and whole internet for homemade electric skateboards. But eerything folks make, is either too complicated and i don't have the parts, or either to expensive and again i don't have the parts.

I have an electric drill motor 14V and its gears, and a skateboard with homemade trucks. Thats all. What is your advice?

I wanna make something look good, not a kid toy like this. I need just a way to make the motor spin the wheel. nothing else matters

If you're limiting yourself to those parts, then you're also limiting yourself aesthetically.

Because skateboard wheels don't have a fixed axle, you're going to have to drive the wheel directly. In this case, try extending the wheel, fixing a shaft or cylinder on the outside face of the wheel, with a flange at the outside, then strap your drill to the top of the board, chuck projecting over the edge, then drive the wheel with a belt around the added shaft.

Either way, it's not going to be pretty.

This looks good to me, it looks awesome. And i need to know a way I can fix the spindle or the sprocket on the wheel..

That looks custom-milled to me.

If you're feeling brave, you could cut a groove around the outside of the existing wheel that would carry the belt.
