Damn, I missed it, but it was really cool that google did this.
According to people who study these things, the google Pacman cost the world something like 5 million lost working hours.
OMG! That is a lot!
You can still play it if you would like to add onto that 5 Million http://www.google.com/pacman/
Haha thanks! I just added a few mins to the record. :D
Nice.....sometimes a little unresponsive (I only did it once, at home, to "test" it ;-)
You mean it was "playable"? I saw it but didn't think to "try it"
Where there normally was "take a guess" or however it is in English there was "insert coin" if you pressed that you could play it :)
Yeah, I just didn't have the time to "see" if it was live or not. :-)
Dang. One day away from the computer and I missed this...
How do you win this game?? I've been trying to save it off-line, to no luck. A quicky google showed no one else was successful, yet.
You don't win at Pac-Man, you keep playing until you're out of credits/money. L
That's what I thought but DJ's comment confused me...
Well, DJ is either what he claims to be, or he is "blagging us". L
Nope, DJ's right, it is possible to beat PAC-Man, because how else would there be a world record for being the only person to ever get a perfect score?
And the perfect-score is? I'm genuinely interested L
Well, I went on wikipedia; Billy Mitchell scored 3,333,360; not quite sure how far that is, but it's a pretty big number... The guy's supposed to be the greatest video gamer ever, he beat a lot of other records, too...
I thought you beat the game when you ate all the dots?
Well, that's considered a level; I think.
When I completed the game (or level) it just reset itself. The layout wasn't different, no new stuff, it just reset back to the way it was.
You win by eating all the dots.
It was great! :D It was hard to get away from the google page today!
Bleedin' annoyin' noise... #2 son was supposed to be researching Achilles (and his heel) earlier - he had great trouble leaving the google page...
Yes the sound is "a bit". L
. It made me jump.
I've got no speakers, is it still the ol' WAKKAWAKKAWAKKAWAKKA?
. I believe it is the original sounds, but it's been so long ago that I can't swear to it.
I can't truly say I've even played the original!
I beat it with only 2 deaths. I beat it on my iPhone with one. Teehee.
I couldn't make it work from Safari, I had to once again go to Firefox, this seems so strange, anyway it was fun to play.
