Nope, the ink for inkjet printers is liquid and soaks into the paper making it impossible to transfer. Laser printers use toner powder that is melted to the surface of the paper. It doesn't soak in, and that lets you transfer it to the copper. You might try printing it out on inkjet and photocopying since photocopiers use a similar process to melt toner. However it might not work well. Photocopier paper is made to hold on to toner and it might not transfer to your copper very well.

As Joe Martin says - it is possible if print with a flatbed capable inkjet directly onto the pcb.

You could print onto paper with your ink jet printer then take it to a library or school and use their laser photocopier to put it on to acetate. OR You could buy an acetate for printing with ink jet printers instead of laser printers. (I assume you're talking about using light to expose board to make PCBs?)

using the laser printer would be the toner transfer method...inkjet won't transfer. It WILL work with photo resist.
