Updated: Hi all, I am not going to have an entry into the April Fools contest in time... Answered

https://www.instructables.com/id/April-Fool-the-Talking-Music-Box-or-whatever/Not that this is newsworthy, it has become the norm,  but I AM going to publish my IBLE when it is finished.   It is a bit complex....and the Audio amp has a bug I must work out of it, garbling the voice over, but if that fails,  I will just use the "remote method".....now that I have piqued everyone's curiousity......I will get back to working on the project :-)

Nice little prank!

What does CDS stand for? I thought that was an LDR... *ponders.*

I liked the schematic for the amplifier you made up, pretty simple but well done.

I would like to see the remote walkie talkie method! Sounds promising, do you think you'll do it?

Yes, it is an LDR,  but a specific kind of LDR,  a CDS  LOL

A photoresistor or light dependent resistor or cadmium sulfide (CdS) cell is a resistor whose resistance decreases with increasing incident light.

do you get a prize if you guess what it is before it's posted?

it's some form of "voice of god" device. you plug it in between someone's REAL input/output devices (i.e. between a cable box and a surround sound system) and at certain intervals during the normal output, it plays a pre-recorded message (or messages) over the expected output

Well, sadly, that schematic has little to do with my "project"  :-)

What will this do? Is it a feed-back device?

Oh, you tease!

I did get my entry in, even though I hadn't actually planned to enter - inspiration to entry in just a couple of hours.

And I've also entered the paracord contest.

I'll be learning to knit next... ;-)

I had a genius idea involving the combination of your last two lines there. But, I have many other projects I am working on currently.

So you are (and anyone else) welcome to pay homage to my idea. (I was thinking along the lines of a knitted paracord bag of sorts.)

Instead I am focusing on making my own camera from scratch, as well as some holga mods, Think I must be in a photography mood.

LOL, I was joking about the knitting - Kitewife is a knitting demon, and even #2 son can knit rectangles, but every time I try, the number of stitches on the needle goes up and down fairly randomly...

Hmmm, it's obvious that you just can't interchange a blue rod with a white rod and you may not have enough red connectors. Start out with a block trigger if that helps.

That's not the problem at all! It's because he isn't using Ericammo.

.  I figured he was stoned and got lost in his navel. <snicker>
.  Red connectors makes more sense, though.
