High Power CREE LED circuit Answered

I am trying to make two different circuits- one to operate 3 CREE XR red LEDS and 2 CREE XRE Blue LEDs. Can anyone point me in the right direction to solve this problem?? Thanks! Matty

it depends on whats ur power supply, such as the house mains, battery(s), etc

You should look into joule thief circuits with a small turn ratio like 1:2 on the transformer. There aren't any examples, so trust me that you'll need to up the turn ratio on the joule thief.

You can generate the DC voltage using the joule thief and use a microcontroller or 555 timer with a trimmer pot (variable resistor) to vary the duty cycle of the currenet through the leds, giving them a 'dimmer' effect.
