How can I block a person from calling me? Answered

Someone keeps crank calling us.  They did it 10 times in a row the last time.  When we hung up, they called us again 5 seconds later.

However, we can't block the number because whoever is calling us turned off their caller ID, so all we see is "Unknown name, unknown number".

Do you guys have any ideas?  This is pissing me off really bad!

or say something so disturbing like i love you or something like that so he won't call you again (if you are of the opposite sex then you have a problem if you want to say something like that.)

A few days back I was out of house and when came back home, I found a couple of missed calls from a number. I researched on the Internet to discover about that number and I found that the call was from a company where I had applied for a job. When I called back on the number, I come to know that the company has called me for interview. My interview went well and now I have been working in that company. It means that a missed call could be important for you. So, one should not overlook a missed call from an unknown number. If you want to know who is calling you then you can join any online phone look up website. For most of the States you would find public directories offered by the government. You can become member of any of these public directories in order to discover the identity of unknown caller. If you often get important calls from your clients or customers then it would be necessary for you to join any website because it is necessary for you to get to know about every unknown call. All they did was call, then hang up.  It's stopped now, that was a few months ago.

Way to waste your time. You wrote that long paragraph oblivious to the fact that I can't see the number on caller ID when the person calls me, thus meaning I can't trace the number, or that the person wastes my time by hanging up as soon as I answer and say "hello". Your answer is totally irrelevant to this question. Next time actually READ the damn post before you answer it.

Hrm. I don't know what to tell you. Wait for the person to get bored...or do some detective work. It's clearly someone who knows you.

Tell the police. It is illegal and they can easily trace the caller (well it's illegal over here anyway).

Some phones review your past callers, so look at that.

Ring your line operator and get your line put on exdirectory or the number blocked.

I can't get the number blocked, the guy who is calling me disabled the "show caller ID" feature, so all I see is "Unknown name, unknown number".

call the phone company and get them to block the number, or use redial and call them back (give them a taste of their own medicine)

also if you get hold of their number, you can do this:

DJ got a stalker?

Simply refuse to answer calls with no ID - they're either your stalker, or a cold-caller.

Just leave it on once you've answered. Say nothing and just laugh at them. Worked with my mate when some people kept on prank calling him. Lol he kept on playing GHOSTBUSTERSSSSSS down the phone to them. They soon gave up.

If you have caller ID built into your phone, then you can :
Add everyone you think it might be onto the phone so it will show up,or
when they call just don't answer, and it will give you an option of calling them back. If that doesn't work, you can call the phone company, and they can call the police. After all, that is harassment.

Call your telephone company. Some are willing to set your phone line to reject callers who have blocked their caller-ID info. There may be a minor one-time charge for making that change.
