How can I find a cheap sport fisherman yacht? Answered

I am a disabled Iraq Veteran. I am unable to work a regular job. I suffer from a head injury and physical injuries that prevent me from doing a lot of things. I have grew up by the water and always dream of owning my own boat. I figured if I was able to get myself a good size boat. I could charter it for fishing trips and dives. I really need something to do with my life. I feel like I am wasting after coming home wounded. I need help because I am not as sharp as I was before a head injury. I would appericate any advice.

I heard there is a "divorce season" in the US when allot of boats come onto the market cheaply due to the rush in making the sale. Otherwise you can also try talking to marina owners, sometimes people are unable to pay their fees and the marina takes ownership of the boats which they then sell on cheaply.

There isn't really an easy answer to this. I would suggest join a local sailing club, often people who sale will know of someone who has a boat available.

A fishing boat is more difficult as there is little social element involved and power boats tend to come with a premium price OR need a lot of work.

Keep looking through local ads and boating mag for sale ads.

I see I thought maybe if I at least tried maybe there's that one person who can help me in the right direction with ideas and advise

Quite a few sailing associations exist for vets with disabilities, such as Challenged America, VetsSailing.org, baads.org, and many others.

While I applaud your ambition to start a charter business, you could also volunteer to work with other disabled vets...

I do volunteer but I don't understand what your trying to say? I want to create more income for my family. I don't have the resources to information but I have to live with my limitions but do not limit myself from trying to make a dollar out of 50 cent
