The handle on my Bowie knife is cracked and loose. What can I do to fix this?
If it isn't major damage i would say just to glue up all of the weak points and cover it in a layer of elastic bands and then a layer of leather or tennis racket grip tape.If it is major damage and is falling off you should probably calve a new handle out of wood and screw it on if it was a full tang or a half tang. You should probably still glue it with epoxy resin on the inside just for extra sturdiness. Is the grip a series of rings around the tang? Is there a nut or screw embedded in the end of the handle? Undo this and the layers should fall off. Keep them in the right order, then repair or replace pieces as required. If the handle is a solid rubber grip then you should just start hacking at it and try to get it off more or less as intact as possible. It is hard to tell until you put more detail of the handle and a pictureSo sorry that is all i can help now

Untill we get more info I'd say Duct Tape.
How is the grip attached? Screwed through the tang? Remove the screws and make some new bits. I have carved knife grips from wood using the old ones as a pattern. Is the grip a series of rings around the tang? Is there a nut or screw embedded in the end of the handle? Undo this and the layers should fall off. Keep them in the right order, then repair or replace pieces as required. Is the handle moulded synthetic? Hard to say without a picture or some more details.
