How can I reprogram a talking birthday card to say something else? Answered

My daughter gave me a talking birthday card. I thought it would be neat to reprogram it to say something else and give it back to her. The card has a little printed circuit board(1 1/8" X 1 1/8"), a small speaker ( 1 1/2" approx.), and a flat battery (like a watch).

You can buy personallised gift tags, which are pretty much the same but re-recordable. This link probably isn't much use to you, but it illustrates that these things exist - you should be able to find one somewhere.

Otherwise Nacho is right about this.

. If it is able to be reprogrammed, there will probably be a microphone and a record button somewhere on the PCB. If you can find a part number on the PCB, Google it. . The recording is probably in ROM (Read-Only Memory), which can't be changed. Unless there is some kind of communications port on the unit, you can't "talk" to it to change anything.
