How can I turn on old tv zoom lens into a telescope Answered

I have acquired a couple of tv zoom lens from canon tv station cameras. Does anyone out there know of a way to turn them into a telescope. Or ad a camera back attachment. It seems like a waste tossing them out. The lenses are fine, btw I'm cheap!

Yes you can convert a old TV zoom lens to mini telescope. Actually Zoom lens itself is telescope (called as telephoto lens). You can look at a zoom lens as telescope without an eyepiece. All you need to do is first find the focal length of your zoom lens and make some attachment to it so that you can attach an eyepiece. For a simple eyepiece start with convex lens of 25mm Focal length
and see whether you are able to see far away objects. If things works go for good eyepiece for a telescope vendor.

BTW tell me what is the focal lenght of you zoom lens then I can give you more guidance.

Without seeing the lens, or knowing the internal arrangements, my first thought is to simply mount a tube on the end closest to the camera to let the lens focus the light properly for your eye.
