How do I fix or replace a broken laptop screen for a (product:) MacBook Air (13-inch, Lat MBAIR 13.3/1.86/2/128FLASH Answered

The Serial No: C02DW9M3DDR1?
Is it possible for you to give me an answer to?

My moms laptop screen was cracked and we don't have enough money to fix it, it would be around $700 to do so.

If I can't have an answer, it's okay, no worries. Please and Thank you! And on the pictures the date thing you'll see is wrong.

+1

Replacement screens for almost any laptop can be found quite cheap on ebay or other internet classified sites.
as far as getting the screen replaced, unless you are a person who still has a warranty and wishes to continue to have that warranty, go on google and figure out how to disassemble the upper half of your mac, youtube could find you a video demonstration.

after you get it apart its just a matter of replacing the broken screen with the new one, take out any screws holding the screen to the bracket, and unplug any connections into the screen, then untape any wires that may be taped to the back of the screen.

once the new screen is in and hooked up, put the top half back together and enjoy the fact that you just saved yourself at least $600.

Can you use a monitor plugged into the vga or usb plug so you can still use the computer?

yes you can use an external monitor, just hte screen is broken, there is no problem with the video output.

sometime you can get an old big monster of a monitor at a garage sale.....or an auction, or a school auction...

I would take the "charged up" laptop, maybe have a cable in case?...to garage sales and try before you buy!
