# How to build a circuit with 6 LEDs w/ 6 Switches? Answered

Need a Diagram for one of the following:

Diagram 1)
6 (5mm) RGB Full Multi color Flashing LED (Forward Voltage: 3.2-3.4v)
Voltage 9-12V (Less the better, but no more than 12)
1 or 6 switches to turn on/off for each LED separately
List any other require parts (w/ detail, ex. "1k ohm" Resistor)

Diagram 2)
Same as number one
1 solar panel (9V 1.5W, output current 167 mA) or 1-2 Solar panel, also have 2 solar panel (4.5V 0.5W, output current is 112mA)
List any other require parts(w/ detail, ex. "1k ohm" Resistor)

Check out THIS LED calc, it will give you a diagram and resistor values. I can tell you off the top of my head that option 1 won't work as spec'd.
You won't be able to use independent switches to control each LED, not enough voltage. You might be able to work out a multiplexing or shift register solution but that's probably beyond your current skill level and also is best done with a microcontroller, like Arduino. The easiest way would be to increase the input voltage to around 20 V , then you can do a simple parallel circuit with 6 switches and 6 resistors.

Another option would be using multiple smaller power sources.

Look online for an LED calc. Punch in all your info and it will give you the circuit you need and the resistor values you need. Now place any switches you want between the power source and the LEDs and your all set.

I try that, but it's doesnt work well with 6 switches. Some light does goes on and off, some just get brighter. Going try using an Arduino instead or increase the voltage.

You'll get better answers if you include datasheets for the LEDs you've chosen.
