This is actually caused by an underlying problem with memory handling in MySQL. It goes through a couple layers of errors, of which only the outermost shows up on the site. I've just posted a temporary quick fix that suppresses one of the middle errors, so that it ought to be OK for a bit while I work on figuring out the full fix. Post again here if you are still seeing these layered exceptions (assuming you aren't getting them on this thread!) and include the link you saw it on. Thanks, Rachel

Ah, the girl with the spanners! It's working so far, I'll let you know if the duct tape slips.

Heres my grand conjecture: A typo while updating the template, say for different ads, or something of that nature, caused this problem in the center column. I know that because the left column will load multiple times, and the right only loads once. Also - the reason why it SOMETIMES works, is that due to a cache, it will occasionally use the older template, but after being viewed a few times, it updates itself. This is all theorizing.

A-ha! More evidence for whoever is fixing stuff: I can't access my own thread directly, but when I click the link that came in the email alerting me to Zach's reply, here I am.

And when I posted that, I got a momentary "500" message.

I couldn't do it by following the email, but I just clicked for the heck of it, and it worked. And yeah, I got the error too... Is it fixed?

Dunno, I had it multiple times while at home, and now that I am not any longer, it hasn't happened. Still, even from home, normally a "try again" refresh (Flock or Fifefox browsers) would "fix" it.

Refresh wouldn't work last night. Today it's fine. Fixed, or healed, life is better.

Could I ask a question (if this is inappropriate, please let me know), but does the "kite" in your moniker refer to the raptor or to the paper and stick toy I flew when much younger (I had one that had over 3/4 of a mile of twine on it......I didn't know the danger of that at the time...but boy did it go high *lol* ), or maybe to the one drawn behind a boat?

It's the paper-and-string variety, in my latest Instructable, it's polystyrene and string. I used the name because my first major forays into online communities coincided with my first forays into kite-making, and I've used it ever since so that people would know me.

Nice, & thank you for that. I get curious about the choice of monikers from everyone, but I also do not want to pry into what may be considered private/secret areas either. In my case, years ago (not in a land far far away), when I started posting to forums and chat rooms, I was known as The_Newbie. But as I got on with people and learned my way around, I was asked to change it....GoodHeart was already taken (up to like GoodHeart593 or so at the time) so I settled for a pun (my wife calls me dear, a hart is a deer, I try to keep a good heart about me). It has been one of the main ways people find me, when I "get lost" (have to take time off the forums, or if I post elsewhere). So far, I have been lucky, and have only run across one place that had a goodhart in it and so had to use another moniker. The kite I had as a kid was one of those, somewhat heavy, Bat-like equilateral triangle ones with the base having semicircles instead of a straight line. We had nylon twine attached to it after having lost a few over the mountains north of us (they weren't cheap). It was so high when flying we could hardly see it, and the line, being heavy already traveled almost parallel to the ground for a few hundred yards before bowing upwards towards the kite. It was a horror to wind it all back in though, and had the wind shifted, we could have caught the high voltage lines to the north west of us (shocking as that might have been, it never happened, but could have). It took over half an hour to wind all that twine back in (too much like work LOL).
