I can't hear music through my ipod? Answered

my 5th generation ipod classic isn't playing any music through the head phones or my dock. I know my head phones and dock work fine but the ipod itself isn't playing music through the headphones.

ok i tink that your head phone jack and your docking ports are somehow ruined ummmmm the way a headphone jack and a docking jack work is that there is two "tabs" of copper and they connected to the main system when the copper tabs are jostled a round they tend to move i think that your copper "tabs" are out of place and need to be adjusted and since the docking tabs are out of place the dock connecting will not complete the circut considering that your conductors are loose it is the same way with the head phone jack so I reccomend that you take it to an apple store and have them look at it and possibly fix it and be with out your music for like a couple days or try doing it yourself and possibly destroy your Ipod

First check all your settings, like equalizer settings and the like.  If everything seems fine, try restoring your iPod to factory settings.  If that doesn't do it, then bring your iPod to an Apple Store to have a Genius look at it.
