I received some wonderful mail yesterday Answered

Picture of

Check out what someone sent my boyfriend yesterday! We have no idea who. They did not put a return address on (which I believe is against postal regulations here in the USA). The stamp was canceled by hand (with a Sharpie) so we don't even have a postmark to go by. Comment here if you have any idea who it was!

Publish your snail-mail address online and see what the future brings...

It's not illegal to mail without a return adress, but cancelling by hand (with sharpie) is unusual.

I've had a postal worker refuse to accept mail from me without a return address. I'm sure you're right that it's not illegal, but I do believe it is Against Regulations. If we had a mailbox with a slot I'd suspect someone of just pushing it through, but in fact it requires a key to open. Mysterious!

My mom's a retired postmaster, so I'll ask her. I think reg's got stricter after 911. It also has to do with size/weight.

Probably couldn't quite fit through a canceling machine.

Any self respecting postal worker would have made it fit...

The irony would be if the people smashed into the dino's feet are postal workers...

its not illegal to not leave a return address, I have sent prank mail without a return address (although I got busted later), and i did not get in trouble with the post office.
