A lot would depend on what you need electricity for. If you are using a kiln then no, the studio shed would need its own breakers. If you just want to run some lights to see by, you might be able to get away with it temporarily. But I would still suggest eventually wiring it out properly in the near future, or better yet if you don't need a lot of power consider a small photovoltaic system.

What you need is: 2.5mm" SWA (3core cable) gland pack 2 way fuseboard 2x16 amp mcbs (supply and sockets) 1x6 amp mcb (lighting) The swa needs to be buried 600mm under ground, needs to have a gland pack. The grey cable is marked as your neutral (blue) , brown is your live and black is marked up as your earth (green/yellow). This needs to come off your ccu (fuseboard) on a new mcb (16 or 20 amp) on the rcd side and is fed to a small ccu in your shed. If you have any doubt or have no knowledge about electrical i would suggest paying for a qualified ELECTRICAN to carry out the work. You could get it cheaper by providing the materials yourself. Electricity is dangerous if you dont know what your doing. Hope this helps
Your local by-laws will likely require you to bury a dedicated cable underground, encased in outdoor-rated waterproof conduit. I would advise against extension cords as they can be tripped on, chewed by animals, chewed by lawnmowers, and otherwise damaged. They are really only a temporary solution.
I do like the idea of an extension cord, but you're right about tripping and the animals. What about placing cord in pvc pipe and burying it slightly underground?I know it has been over a year, things come up and the workshop had to be put on hold. I'm hoping to return to it this summer! How much space do you need to span between power-point and shed, what power requirement, and for how long and how often? Extension cords may do it, buy they may not be suitable also. L
