I want to watch netflixs using ubuntu and it is not supported by 'flix is there anything I can download to fix this? Answered

On my windows os something started to gobble up any browser I used and screwed the sound all up, then got rid of any restore points and my task manager.  I tried the free version of Linux called ubunto and partitioned off the friggin windows and all its happiness and now enjoy the internet again. BUT  netflixs dos not support linux and I dont know of any plug in that will help. I'm open to suggestions.

Another solution: Install virtual machine software, install Windows into that, run Netflix in that VM.

You can down load Silverlight clone for Ubuntu here:

Or using Synaptic, install the moonlight-plugin-core.  I don't subscribe to Netflix but it works on other sites I have tried that require Silverlight.

Netflix uses MS Silverlight to authenticate your machine -- it's not supported on anything but windows, or dedicated netflix players. There may be an emulated windows you can use -- but if you had windows before, what's stopping you from reinstalling windows?
