what is Smoky cumin and where can I find it
Or, depending on context, she might just have been saying to add cumin, which she describes as having a smokey flavor. (Cumin to the garden, Maude...)

There is such a thing as smoked cumin. Perhaps that was it? It's not terribly common, AFAIK. Google might turn up a supplier in your area, or at least an online source. It may well have been a combination of cumin and smoked paprika, as Lemonie suggests. This is a pretty common spice blend.
Also, she may actually have just been describing regular cumin as having a "smoky" flavor.
It was probably something TexMex. TexMex usually has a high concentration of cumin. I love TexMex.
I suspect this was smoked something else andcumin. See what you can find here www.rachaelray.com/ L
