Inline splicing Answered

I want to add an outdoor low voltage light midway along the line of an existing wire. do I cut one or both sides of the wire to splice in the new fixture?

Generally speaking, most recent low-v outdoor lamps provide a clip-on connection that auto-pierces the two lamp-cord conductors by squeezing a compression fitting. But yes, both wires are used for a parallel (ladder rung) connection to the low feed line.

oh well, skip the characters at the bottom. that was an epic failure of ascii art.

Both. Or you will put the new light in series !
