At least they're crediting the site.
That's how I found them - they all came up on a search for "Instructable".
I wonder how many people are making stuff from this site and never letting on?
well they're probably making it but I doubt as many would post a how to considering it's been done, I think metacafe should be scoured for real worms though, making money off of liscenced instructables, by having that share-alike bit that means that theyre breaking the law by using it commercially as only the creator may do so or give permission to do so, and it's stealing viewers of instructables no doubt
Yeah I kinda came to that realization after I posted. ;-)
It's the old quandary, post and get ripped off, or don't post and languish in obscurity.
Well, if your licence is protective enough, callup (by that, I mean YouTube) and ask them to take down the video if they didn't futfill the licence.
You know, I wasn't posting this as "look, isn't this terrible?" - I was posting it as "look, isn't it cool that people are using and crediting our site?"I'm sure there are loads of people posting projects without "Instructables" as a tag, but that would be way to boring a job to find those.
What I'd really like to see is people embedding these videos in the comments of the original Instructable! That would be some spectacularly awesome feedback.
You can leave them notes on YouTube to suggest it - I bet they don't know it's possible.
I think they might just not be joining, which restricts them from doing so.
Maybe we should ask them to join as well!
I've been doing that, and one (the knife-man above) has joined and added his clip as a comment.
What's the knife man's account?
That's a good idea.
Millions. Did I say millions? I meant billions. Billions of people are making stuff from this site.
I thought they weren't going to give credit to Instructables, but good thing they did.
Wow! That first guys kinda serial killerish, I think it's because he's holding a Knife, but it's not like there saying they thought of them though.
