Is the cake a lie? Or is only the promise of cake a lie?
the cake isn't a lie SPOILER ALERT After you beat the narrator/robot thing in a boss battle you get sucked out of the roof and onto the grass after that it goes to a cut scene where the narrator/robot thing goes up to the cake and blows out the candles, the cake isn't a lie but the promise of getting the cake in return is a lie as the narrator/robot thing plans to kill you to hide all the evidence, just had to clear that up.
