Is there a silicone gel for molds that is food safe? Answered

Most of the silicone molding Instructables that I have seen look very easy to do especially,

https://www.instructables.com/id/Two-Part-Silicone-Casting/
and
https://www.instructables.com/id/Make-a-silicone-mold-from-common-household-materia/

But i want to know if the materials used in these type projects are food safe for things like jello or chocolate casts. If anyone knows of a viable and cheap substitue if not would be of much help

Thanks!

Yes and no;

The answer is 'read the label'. The stuff from smooth-on.com (the most common molding rubber I've seen) is MOSTLY food safe.

Thankfully they made a full listing of all their products that are food safe :)
