don't run it on alkiline batteries, instead get yourself a nice sealed lead acid battery, it costs about the same amount, and the lead-acid battery is rechargeable most lead-acid batteries are 12v, so you can hook up a small compressor to it

Thank you for your time. I no longer require an answer to this question. However, I would really like to thank lemonie for his patience with me. I know for a fact that I would never be that patient with a nooblet.

What do you mean by that question? I'm sorry, I'm a novice when it comes to electronics. The hardest thing I've ever done is hook lights and 9volts up and things like that.

Let me explain this better. I'm working on a design for an airsoft MMG, and the design calls for an air compressor. I simply wanted to know if there was a cost effective way of hooking up my old one to some batteries before I run out and simply buy one that was intended to run off of batteries, but I'm leaning towards the latter at this point.

yep. just connect 100 AA batteries together, end to end, and hook the ens to the plug.

SInce he says "plugs into the wall", 150V DC ain't going to do the compressor anygood.... Or the batteries ;-) Steve
