Is there a way to make single line spacing in the new editor? Answered

Is there a way to make single line spacing in the new editor?  Whenever I press return it looks like I'm getting double line spacing. Is there any way to stop the new editor from doing this? I don't want things formatted that way.

Try shift+enter.
Here is an example :)

Is there a touch-screen-friendly version of that?

Couldn't you still do shift+enter on a touch screen?

You can! Most touch screen keyboards support a shift-lock (used for typing all caps), try shift-lock+enter

Hmm, I didn't have any problems doing it on my iphone. I made a comment here (https://www.instructables.com/id/DIY-Looped-Scarf/) using just shift and then enter. I didn't do like a shift lock though.

Must be an iPod/Android difference.

Yes, I can't do a single line space on my Android.

Here's a test line break

Ah, well, that's the way the operating system crumbles...

I always wanted to ask this, any update on website is not tested on Internet explorer 10?. The editor (not the new one) does not even allows to have a new line. The enter does not work.

We test across the latest releases of the major platforms (Chrome, FireFox, IE, Safari). On IE specifically, make sure that Instructables.com is on the "compatibility mode" list so that the menu's show up correctly.

(Barring something catastrophic) The new editor is soon to be the only editor, so any bugs associated with the old one won't be getting much (if any) attention.
