Learning Electronics -- Resources? Answered

Hello! I'm a 13 years old geek. I am good at programming and the software stuff, but doesn't know anything about electronics. When I see Arduino projects or other robotics/gadget projects here at Indstructables, I feel very sad because I don't know the nitty-gritty. So what are the resources on web available  where I can learn about electronics, robotics and the likes?

I know there are many books, but they're more of theory which takes a college-student to understand, and I'm not that. I want the books, websites which makes us understand these a little simpler way with practical stuffs too. Please list any website or tutorial you know. I am also eager to make those hexapods and robots.

Funny I replied to this yesterday and it has gone.

Start here

there are other electronic primer instructable if you search.

For support on microprocessors I couldn't suggest better than

Look at the Basic stamp site as well.

First 6 minutes to this:

That book seems good: http://books.google.com/books/about/Practical_electronics_for_inventors.html?id=NmD0SD1-1YwC
(A remark: I am not a native english speaker and also english books are expensive and hard to obtain where I live, so my own path to knowledge was through other sources. But I have had chance to look at this book, and in my opinion it walks you through the very basics and gives also enough advanced stuff that afterwards you should definately be able to understand almost any project on instructables enough to put it together or effectively search for the nuances you didn't quite get yet.)

If You are impatient to go for the Arduino right away, then http://www.ladyada.net/learn/arduino/ explains very basics about the components used in these simple experiments, but before You can get creative yourself You need much more than that and have to find other sources.

You have already found the best resource for beginners that I know of ... INSTRUCTABLES. All you need to do is search the site for what you need to know. Want to know how to solder.... just search that word. Want to know what tools you need as a beginner in electronics? That question has been asked many times... just search for it. Start by building simple electronics projects like LED (light-emitting-diode) projects. If you are already good at programming and software... then don't feel bad. That's a good start! Just keep building on that knowledge and you will get there.
