MOT spot welder? Answered

I want to build an MOT spot welder and ive already cut the wiring out of the transformer but i noticed while doing so i scraped off what seems to be the coloring off the primary.  Will this affect it in any way?
Also, i can really tell the power of this transformer? can anyone help?

A welder is high current and low voltage.

Your MOT is part of a high voltage resonant microwave.

Iceng, by removing the MOT secondary and replacing it with a low gauge copper cable wrap you can "transform" the high voltage power into high current and low voltage output.

you can get Enamel Spray and touch it up

that stuff that you scraped off is the insulation but just on the edge will not hurt it.
