Makerspace Contest 2017 is live! Enter today! Answered

**I just want to remind everyone that it is fine to find people to join with to make a team BUT remember that you must be within 150 miles of each other and that you will have to SHARE the prizes. So whoever you choose to be Team Captain will be getting the prizes and will be in charge of making sure everyone gets to use them.**

You read that right! The Makerspace Contest will be happening again this year.

The contest is open for entries on June 1st and closes on August 31st. It will be similar to last year with just some updates to the prizes including a focus on Featured Instructables and fun new Individual prizes. That's right; you can help your team win some awesome prizes and also win something all for yourself.

This forum topic is for you to ask questions about the contest, converse about making as a team, and just chat with other teams competing in the competition. Find more details on the Contest Page.

Remember, if you want to participate, you need to register your team, get a team code, and wait until June 1st to start posting.

Have fun and happy making!

The contest rules state that the contest ends the 31st of August, 23:59 Pacific Time. That should be about 24 hours from now, but the contest hour counter is set on 15 hours..

Hmmm. It says 15 hours now and you said it said 15 hours 9 hours ago. Just ignore that. It ends tonight at 23:59 PST.

There is a rule of not posting more than 50% in last week does that mean from tomorrow update or the next Monday update

There is a rule of not posting more than 50% in last week does that mean from tomorrow update or the next Monday update.Yesterday from 10:00 pm to 12 am IST the instructables website was slow which made me to not post instructables from my profile.

The last week started at 12:00AM PST Friday August 25th.

Your group has 150 ibles in the contest right now, are you implying you are holding back 75 valuable instructions the DIY community aspires, for the last week of a three month lasting event?

Is there a way to see all the team tags?

I know I can use this url if I know the team's code (https://www.instructables.com/tag/type-id/keyword-TEAMCODE/), but how do I find other teams' codes? I'd like to be able to look at all the projects by the top teams to see what sort of stuff they are making.

Since posting this a site update seems to have removed the option to link to a specific keyword :(

I can search for the keyword but it sometimes turns up instructables that aren't part of the team's entry.

Is there another way to see all a team's instructables? At a certain point there gets to be too many entries to collect in a collection.

I'm trying to find out if there is another way to search keywords. I'll let you know what I find out!

Sounds like that existing link/search ability should hopefully be fixed in the near future!

That's great news. Thanks for looking into it for me!

I have a problem. I posted an instructable, but I didn't add it to the makerspace contest at the start cause I wasn't sure if it was going to get featured, and I had other contests that I could put it in. It did get featured, but now I can't put it in the makerspace contest. Is there any way I can still enter that instructable in the makerspace contest?

As long as you posted it after the Makerspace Contest launched you can enter it. You can either go to the contest page and click Enter Now and enter the project, or go to the Instructable page and scroll down on the right and look for Add Instructable To: Contest. It will be below where views are. You can add it to the Makerspace Contest that way too.

So now I tried to enter the ible into the contest, but then I recieved an email stating that my entry was refused. Why? It is featured, and I thought that was the only thing that really mattered when entering the MS contest. Can you help with this?

Are you referring to your most recent instructable? https://www.instructables.com/id/DIY-Water-Gun/ I checked the keywords and your tag for your MS team wasn't entered there. It must be listed for the entry to be in the MakerSpace Contest. You can go into your ible to edit it and add it in, then reapply to the contest. :)

Yes that is the instructable that I am talking about, but I have to enter my team in the keywords? Or do I enter the teams' code in the keywords?

Select as Best AnswerUndo Best Answer

I can't get it by hitting the enter button contest, but I got it the second way you said. (by going on the instructable and click add to contest) Thanks so much!

What method are you having trouble entering from? When you publish your Instructable, the contest page, or from the Instructable page itself?

Hi, You can upload a model as long as you are still creating a full Instructable with multiple steps, and images and text for each step.

Can some one help me???? I want to join a team, but I don't know how!

Select as Best AnswerUndo Best Answer

You have a team leader send an email to instructables and then get a code that you use as a keyword in an instructable that you want enter.

Select as Best AnswerUndo Best Answer

user

Ok thanks! The team I want to join is yours!

Select as Best AnswerUndo Best Answer

you are already in it! I did send you the code, correct?

Select as Best AnswerUndo Best Answer

I know you sent the code, but don't I have to email instructables to actually put me in the team?

Manchester Makerspace (in New Hampshire, USA) would be happy to have any other New Hampshire based Makers join our contest team and share any prizes.

We'll even take Mainers if you ask nicely.
