Minty boost DC-AC Switch Answered

So I have this idea to put an Ipod into an old CD player case to make the ultimate Ipod Pod. I want to use the Minty boost for battery charging, but I would also like to use a DPDT switch to switch between the DC power of the batteries to AC power of 4.5 volts. I tried to research this and came up with a plan, but I'm not sure if this would work.

Well I read somewhere 4.5 volts would be enough to charge it. I would only use this once or twice a year, but I have been tinkering with using a USB AC charger instead. It would probabally be a better match and might just save some headaces. The CD player will just be a case, I plan to use the existing Batterie compartment and headphone jacks and AC jacks along with installing spaeakers. Here Is my basic concept. I don't just plan on trying to wire it all then plug it in. So maybe if I get it done i will post the results

Your boost-unit ramps up from ~3V DC. There's something not quite right about feeding it 4.5AC....
Why not just switch the batteries and an AC iPod charger instead?
How do you propose to use the CD player?
