Mobile Phone Format Answered

To Whomever has the ability to make this available, please, please, please seriously consider making the website mobile phone friendly.

When I try to view the site on my Droid smartphone it is difficult because of the way the text displays.  I love instructables and I also do a lot of web viewing on my phone.  It would be nice if it were not so difficult.

Okay, it's been a while since the last comment - and I have to say that I'm totally on the other side of this fence. I highly DISLIKE the mobile version of the site and wish I had the option to switch to the full site somewhere on the screen when I'm forced to go to the mobile version. On the mobile version, I can't add comments, view stats, etc. It's too limited. So please, add a "full site" option on the mobile screen!

I totally agree, this is a place where we really need to do a whole lot of work. I think we're just hoping that phones all get large enough fold out screens that people will be able to browse on them like a normal monitor...but these are just dreams.

But since you posed the query, let me tell you what we do have (and rest assured, it's not much). If you add ?f=m to the end of an address, you might get a mobile version of the website. It doesn't work on all pages (like the home page), but it should work on most). Now the problem, if you're logged in, it won't work. So if you want to use this, log out, and try this link:

Best of luck, and I assure you this is something we know we need to do, but don't have the resources to really work on right now. Sorry.

I'm typing this out from my iPod, the site is usable, but a pain, I don't think it would be to difficult to add a mobile version or the site because of the way instructables are made. A version without adds and top bar would be easer, make it available to premium uses only (no adds) and we'd be good to go.
