Molding demo for middle schoolers? Answered

Hi! I teach a rec class for elementary and middle school boys. I have not done any molding but am interested to learn the basics and your class looks great.

Do you have any suggestions for what would work well in a class, hands-on-demo situatuon? (Subject/materials) Thanks!

Hi Brian,

What a fun idea! Just a few questions so I can better direct your efforts:

- What is the youngest age of the boys?
- Do you want them to follow along and make molds/casts themselves? Or just watch you do it.
- What would your budget be for materials?
- Do you have good ventilation in the room you'd be using?

Once I know the answers to these questions, I can make some suggestions for projects!

Thanks, Paige. Here's my specifics. Thanks for any suggestions! -Brian

- Ages: We have 6 to 14 year olds, but often break into 3 groups by age. If I plan for kids watching only, I could include all ages. If I plan for more hands on (prefered) I could target older group - 11 to 14.
- Involvement - I prefer to have hands-on involvement, if I can keep it easy/cheap enough.
- Budget - I was hoping to go cheap, but it's flexible, so let's say $50. $100 max.
- Ventilation - yes, sufficient.
