More fan art comes in Answered

We got two more envelopes today sent to Eric's Boring Wall. One from stinkymum and one from caitlinsdad. Both even included a card. One was sweet and one is a little different. Check the photos below.

Ha! i love that picture of him with the card. All great Entries.

i think he does, and i bet he tried talking to the card as well

No, he talks with the card. My guess is that he makes the card respond.

It was a joke, caitlins dad had already made the joke about talking to the card, i was making a further joke based upon that, that he was talking to both himself and the card. Its a rather complex one, especially over the net.

I think W- is making a further joke based on your joke following my joke where with is italicised, thus emphasizing the nuance between talking to the card and talking with the card. The remainder of the comment is drenching with standard internet sarcasm to make a finely crafted and well balanced comment. So, points to W- for use of subtlety in American English. Play on.

haha, its like were all part a delicate dance, following one complicated joke with another, my comment its self, was a joke upon a joke, with references including referring to a joke of a joke etc, and the ending line 'pretending' to insult his intelligence by indicating the complexity of said jokes.

I feel were reaching a new level of internet communication, we better watch it, we might evolve into a higher state in the form of electric beings who live within the internet, or space, im not sure which.

*rudely buts into conversation*
sounds like a good life to me, 'cept when there a blackout or electrical storm...

so electrical storms are beings ascended to a higher level making love?

That is a shocking question. You will be grounded.

You should be charged with verbal battery for that one!

Ah, don't be so negative. Perhaps we should induct you into the Punsters' Hall of ShFame. It would transform your life!

I prefer to be a free radical, although I am attracted to many things.

but I do and Frankenberries, nope, that's not Count Chocula...I do get raspberries every so often...

But they're rich in antioxidants! They'd crush you as a free radical!

It would seem that we have some good chemistry going with this discussion.

It would be diluted with more stable puns or people...

But if you dilute it too much, the puns become homeopathetic.

Let me get back to you with an alternative reply.

Mmmmm...are you going to acupuncture this thread? Or are you just needling me?

Hate to burst your balloon but what will do it is a cat here or near.

Nah, I'm part of his search engine. I scan for references for possible puns and insert a bookmark. If the punmaster decides it is worthy of a greater pun, the punmaster will place his seal or other animal of approval on it and comment. The more hits it gets, the more obscure the pun will be. And so on...

What scares me more then being part of the internet is the amount of analyzing that goes into a simple joke.

Hmmm, a bit of paranoia that accompanies a humorous comment that has no other meaning than to be humorous. Very interesting.

PS: I have to go to several appointments, so that is why I am early ;-)

You need a prescription for procrastination to fix that.

We need a joke interpreter person in a small window at the bottom of the screen to translate as we type and read comments. Now what was this topic about in the first place?

I actually have that little guy as a joke (it was amusing to my wife the first time it came up, but got annoying very quickly)....a little program that gives off the wall suggestions, rather then actually help with anything :-)

"Are you writing a list? Let me help! I'll add an indent to every single place that you don't want it."

I always find word doing just what I don't want it to do. Fixing woerds that are right, indenting the wrong things, etc.

Oh, I meant I have a little joke program that uses the little paper clip guy and posts very unhelpful messages, rather then the usual (semi-helpful) ones :-)

Ironically, most of us think that's what the real paper clip does :-(

Ah, but my paper clip is fully updatable. I can easily make the messages say whatever I want, by updating a little txt file :-)

Ahh...I guess it's just that I've never seen him as even remotely helpful.

MS Word thinks you are writing a list when you are not and it automatically indents and adds bullets or item numbers. You try to escape out of it but invisible formatting that you can't delete screws up what you type from then on.
