Movie Error Answered

I was watching the first part of Generation Kill, its about a group of marines during OIF 1, and I was getting all into it and I noticed an error, a Major error. Well just look at the picture. Normally for a vehicle to go, the engine has to be RUNNING. Tactical vehicles have switches to start them. You have off, run, and start. He has the engine off, but yet the vehicle is making noise and its going down the road. Now i know the vehicle is being pulled by a trailer, and the engine is "off" because if it was "on" it would be a crap load louder and everyone would have to scream at each other just to talk, but come on guys at least rig the knob so that it points up right when driving. What movie errors have you noticed that made you upset?

Lighten up. It's movie magic or dramatic license.

Im okay for them to drive a HMMWV over a regular car and not even roll it but to be able to drive a truck without it being started is very "magical".

You need to pay attention to detail though. Nitpick through John Wayne's "Green Berets". He does a fatal hookup when he goes rapelling. Good stuff.

I will be sure to add it to my list. :)

Here's another for your list. Smoky and the Bandit Speedometer reading about 55-60 mph. engine noise screaming and Sally field says " Are we really going 110, we're goen a 110", while the camera was focused on the speedo- "Stupid" Still a good movie.

Just like you have to add "Stripes" with Bill Murray. It's a hoot.

in the matrix, the 1st one, when neo opens the door to the oracle, you can see the camera reflected in the door handle. also when he does that awesome bullet dodge when he is horizontal, he drops his guns beforehand, then when the camera pans out and moves around him, the guns are gone. added to that, when he falls back down, they are there again by his feet! lol

that was on purpose, it was an error in the matrix. The whole movie falls apart if that wasnt in there :)

Something I have seen way too many times to count is a car that has just jumped over something, bumped and mashed in part of the fender/bumper, or broke a window, and a few moments later it is ok. I have seen ambulance doors go from one big door, to two doors that open in the center.

TV shows are notorious for this sort of thing. Can we say: Dukes of Hazard? LOL

Here's a site full of them. I always go here after I watch a movie or before I watch a movie I've already seen.

some of these are just straight up bull... EX: there are scenes where you can see reflections of people, and the reflections are not the same as the person Which is obviously on purpose because I dount the director would want to use seperate takes and a green screen when he doesnt have too

Oh, ok. Yea, that happens a lot. The site has a "corrections" tab for each movie. Sometimes I like to read those more than the actual mistakes. If you remember the movie, submit the mistake as a correction.

That sort of "error" happens all the time - it's called "keeping to a budget" or "getting the right location for the story". Anything made in the last few years, and claiming to be set in medieval England is probably filmed in Eastern Europe, because the locations lack tarmac roads and power lines, and they're cheaper to hire.

There are a lot of "easter eggs" too. These are things thrown in there that have a hidden meaning. Besides names and script references, things like the airplane markings or signage points to something.

A lot of TV shows or movies set in "New York City" are actually filmed in Toronto, Canada. Toronto is too "clean" compared to NYC.

If you're a fan of the X Files, keep an eye out for BC license plates on the cars, or for the occasional BC Transit bus going by in the background. They filmed much of the show up in Vancouver (West Van, for the locals).
