My Raspberry pi gives either no signal or misdirected? Answered

Hi I purchased all new except my monitor is 8". When I plug all in, the monitor says no device found. NOOBS is on the card, I verified that. I have changed pluggs in and out. I'm just not getting anywhere. It does not respond to KB or mouse. All I see is a line up up of choices: Movie, photo, text. The monitor does respond to its remote. I do get the red led and a single flashing green led, it just does not seem to see the board and KB/Mouse. Thanks, Peter

Sounds like your Pi is booting, but your monitor isn't recognizing it. Do you have a 'source' or 'input' button on the monitor to toggle its input? You can try to operate your Pi 'headless' over SSH to verify it is booting properly: https://www.raspberrypi.org/documentation/remote-a...

Or try this approach: https://learn.adafruit.com/adafruit-raspberry-pi-l...

I looked at these and they are way over my head. One is only good for Mac - I do not have. The others assume I have logged into something over a network and I need an IP address - I do not know how to do that.

This is going downhill very rapidly.
