My never-published K'nex creations
These are just a couple of my creations that I never posted. I'm don't have most of them anymore, so don't even ask for me to post. Hope you like them! 1 And 2 are my gatling gun. This was a great gun, but the motor was not powerful enough to push the triggers. I liked it because it had the switch for the motor build right onto the handle. 3 And 4 are my version of spider massacre. It was a great gun, it shot 60 feet with 2 rubberbands (the ones on in the picture). 5 And 6 are a really good magazine I made. 7 Is my modded dd-27. It was not a big mod, but it is still one of my favorite guns. 8 Is my Semi-Auto. This was a excellent gun, but took a while to reload. 9: The front of my modded Pineapplebob's sniper. This mod helped a lot. 10 is my sniper. Silentassasin actually made a Instructable for this one. 11 and 12: A really old mod of foresthell12's gun. it was excellent. Redneckobseesed expanded a little more on this one and came up with the ROSP. Thats it! Thanks for having a look at this forum.
if you do rebuild it post it and make it walk
Select as Best AnswerUndo Best Answer
Walk?
Select as Best AnswerUndo Best Answer
make it like walk on 4 feet so you can put it on a table and put the triger on a push relise at the front so when it hits people they will covered in brusies
Select as Best AnswerUndo Best Answer
Which one though?
Select as Best AnswerUndo Best Answer
the gattiling gun and sorry for the wait
Select as Best AnswerUndo Best Answer
I was wondering how many motors were used in the gatling gun?
Select as Best AnswerUndo Best Answer
Just one.
Select as Best AnswerUndo Best Answer
if you do rebuild this, you could try that concept oodalumps posted for his gat, or use 2 motors.
Select as Best AnswerUndo Best Answer
If I were to rebuild it I would.
Select as Best AnswerUndo Best Answer
ok. I think that using ooda's concept would mean that you could use weaker motors.
Select as Best AnswerUndo Best Answer
Woah That would have to be a powerful motor!
Select as Best AnswerUndo Best Answer
oh and can i ask was the gatling gun good/
Select as Best AnswerUndo Best Answer
It had great power and was nice to use, but the motor never managed to shoot three or four without coming to a stop :-(
Select as Best AnswerUndo Best Answer
Hmm you could use gear ratios to improve it?
Select as Best AnswerUndo Best Answer
I did. It was still no good.
Select as Best AnswerUndo Best Answer
try a chain pulley system using gears, it reduces the weight but you may have to rewind it up like a.... rubber band machine gun after it shot all of its rubber bands (the string powered ones) Or mod it so you use two motors or just get that green motor from perfect ducks machine gun, i dont have one of those but i heard those are amazing =(
Select as Best AnswerUndo Best Answer
I dont even haff it anymore. (unfortunately) Sounds good though...
Select as Best AnswerUndo Best Answer
Well anyway im just looking for some good knex machine guns that dont use too many yellows because im really low on them, got any ideas on what to do with a million red motors? i have seriously too many of them and nothing to use them for... if only perfect duck posted is mobile knex launcher or the quad blaster tank....
Select as Best AnswerUndo Best Answer
Yeah. That bot looked sweet. As for MG's... Not really. Why not make your own?
Select as Best AnswerUndo Best Answer
Hmm i haven't really had much experience from making a good cannon besides yours, i guess i could make one but the triggers going to be lame though, I just needed another smaller one because i have these giant rubberbands that wont fit on yours because they are thick and cant fit arround the wheels...
Oh btw that is one great ast pistol you made =) i liked it cause of the trigger's reliability and it gave me a new look on block/ square barrel guns
Select as Best AnswerUndo Best Answer
Thanks! And... I thought we were talking about Machine guns! Oh well. It would be cool if you made a cannon. The triggers are not hard, they can just be a bet monotonous to make them look good.

Ive created a sort of knex sharpener, after shooting through wood or cardboard your grey rods or whatever will sort of dull, thats why i made this sort of like a sander, it uses gear ratios to spin the grey rod at fast speeds while a piece of sand paper sands it =)
I also made a ... well you wouldnt call it a chain saw but its pretty cool ill get a pic up but i got the idea from a youtube video
Select as Best AnswerUndo Best Answer
Neat!
Select as Best AnswerUndo Best Answer
you could have overclocked the motor. KI has some instructions on that.
Select as Best AnswerUndo Best Answer
cool
Select as Best AnswerUndo Best Answer
make a machine gun with no chain
Select as Best AnswerUndo Best Answer
i did that and used a radar gun it was 10.2mph
Select as Best AnswerUndo Best Answer
Not sure what to do now... either you use a gear box of yellow/blue + yellow/blue over a grey motor with chain links, but 10mph thats pretty fast...
Select as Best AnswerUndo Best Answer
ya shoulda use a drill to pwer it.
Select as Best AnswerUndo Best Answer
Too much work :-p
Select as Best AnswerUndo Best Answer
not at all... connect drill, turn on, reload
Select as Best AnswerUndo Best Answer
Meh, I dont really want to. Its all you if you can though!
Select as Best AnswerUndo Best Answer
is there any way you can try and give me basic instructions fore the gat? cuz i wanna make it and power it with a drill
Select as Best AnswerUndo Best Answer
Not really :-( You can see a lot from the pictures though.

Just a little tip: on your second gun (the pistol) putting to many air spaces slows the bullet down.
Select as Best AnswerUndo Best Answer
The friction saved more than makes up for it.
Select as Best AnswerUndo Best Answer
well i bet it could go farther with a bit less airspaces
Select as Best AnswerUndo Best Answer
There is air inside a bunch of connectors.
Select as Best AnswerUndo Best Answer
well i mean spaces where friction can cool and air can escape. air can help the bullet go farther. btw: the mag rocks!
Select as Best AnswerUndo Best Answer
Aright heres the deal friction is when particles or lets say knex rubs together, the bullet is accelerating through the gun and if it had more grey knex pieces on it, it'd accelerate less, those spaces also cause friction but not as much as when the barrel is made without those spaces, friction on air is less then friction on the ground or whatever, thats why people say an airplane is far more fuel efficient than cars... Therefore your statement of when the gun has more grey connectors the rod will go further is semi false because it adds more accuracy but it reduces power, the only way to make it go further is to either increase the rate at which the knex rod accelerates through the air by adding more rubberbands or finding a balance between friction and acceleration, and also the type of bullet effects it too because each knex rod has a different length, thus each has a different inertia property.
Theres your giant explanation that backs up what Canadian said =)
Btw that mag does rock its pretty well made!
Select as Best AnswerUndo Best Answer
You sir, are correct. LOL.

Btw that mag does rock! I think i might have double posted because i pressed back, whoops!

Thanks
Select as Best AnswerUndo Best Answer
Wow, how many bullets can that magazine in picture 5 and 6 hold? You could put that on a powerful gun and have it made.
Select as Best AnswerUndo Best Answer
I think it shot around 20. It was fun to use. Thanks!
Select as Best AnswerUndo Best Answer
Thats one cool machine gun!
Select as Best AnswerUndo Best Answer
Thanks!
Select as Best AnswerUndo Best Answer
do you know a rough estimate for pieces on the battle rifle? it looks so good but i dont know if i can make it. :D
Select as Best AnswerUndo Best Answer
Eh... no. Not all that many though. The stock uses most.
Select as Best AnswerUndo Best Answer
ah ok thank you.
