My shower pipes "scream" when the faucet is on. Answered

My shower pipes "scream" when the faucet is on. Is there a way to fix this without tearing apart the wall and calling a plumber?

I've only ever heard of "water hammer" being a phenomenon, not a noun.

I took a look at "water pipe squeal" online and got the following.

Looks like you probably have some sort of obstruction that is making the water vibrate audibly.

if it is what I think it is then- this is caused by air in the pipes. fitting a "water hammer' can fix the problem.
