New Purple Shoes Answered

My old purple shoes were getting pretty beat up, so I just dyed another pair using the same formulation as my Purple Shoes Instructable. Check 'em out!

I would like to know something. Just hoping ya'll can clear this up for me. Why, precisely does this forum topic bring up an ad that says "Does God really care?" ? Try as I might, I simply cannot come up with the connection between God and purple shoes. I'm sure I must be missing something...

Cool...

Is it just me, but if someone else did this, wouldn't we all say SPAM!!!?

Perhaps, but since there is new relevant content (literally new purple shoes), if it was someone else, I wouldn't consider it spam.

Your new avatar reminds me of this. Can you tell everyone to go hit the surf? Is that your holodeck in the background?

I had made a PM comment to Eric once about conflict of interest (I think one of his own I'bles got featured :-) and he pointed out that since it's his Web site, everything is in his interest :-)

It's perfectly fine as long as he didn't bribe randy with promises of purple shoes... It's also fair enough to feature things for a legitimate reason, true I never feature my own stuff a lot of the forum topics that need featured anyway are simply featured when created, it's slightly less ethical on 'ibles but if Eric made a new feature on 'ibles and posted an instructional on it featuring it would be a good idea, granted they have a weird habit of making new features and leaving the monkeys to type a Shakespeare.

point of information: When abbreviating the word "Instructables," the apostrophe should do which of the following: 1) I'ble 2) 'ible 3) 'able 4) I'able 5) ibble Just curious :D

'ibles is my preference, however a lot of people like 'able... To be honest its an invented word and aesthetically 'ible looks better than i'ble

Not made up. A person is instructable if you can sit them down and teach them something (i.e., unlike most newbies). And adjective-to-noun conversion is a long standing tradition in English :-)

You wrote, "aesthetically 'ible looks better than i'ble". What, you don't like my pedantically correct notation?!? "'ible" is just wrong, even if it looks better :-)

I refer to it as iBles, but i suppose i'bles is more grammatically sound.

Eric is clearly a good guy, with a great (if dry) sense of humor. On one of my work trips (probably not until the new year), I really need to get up to the City and see if I can meet the I'bles folks.

It's definitively dry, which plays well with Christy's humor variation, they are a definite team.

My favorite example if their being a team was in the chatroom when they were completing each other's sentences.

YAY!! Those are awesome! I want to dye my old ones electric blue with purple highlights. I'll have to think of something to cover the parts I want purple that will survive the process.

Why not paint them with dyes, it'd be the same but more fun, if you made them up thick and then... Err no make them thin and use low amounts of liquid to brush on so it doesn't run too easily...
