No more Oodammo's Answered

No offence or anything but I'm starting to get sick of oodammo pistols. I agree they're good but they all look the same. I would like people to make oodammo guns but no more pistols please.

Thanks for your attention,

Mr. Muggle

Can I build just one more? I'll try to make mine unique. I'm hoping to make it as good as possible so that we won't have any more competition. However, there will always still be those people who want one just for the sake of belonging. It was the same thing with snipers and handle fed side arms.

Ya, first it was snipers, then side arms, now oodammo pistols. Though they arn't that bad, it gets repetive.

I don't mind if you make them unique like you said, I just get annoyed when 5 get posted in one day, with almost exactly the same body, trigger, ect.

No props for me or zak for trying to make mine different from the rest?  =P

Zak and Mepain yes. Your design isn't too much more different than the other block ones. Your removable magazines weren't even made by you first lol. Not saying yours isn't good but it isn't completely new.

I can't help it that someone beat me to it.  The important thing to me is that I thought of the mag by myself, WITHOUT help.  I made a new and sturdy trigger design though.  I guess the trigger would be better off in a bolt action gun, but whatever.

Lol poor DJ. I thought that trigger up before you. It was in my first suckish bolt action. Here's the picture again to prove it. And it doesn't really matter if you thought up the design if someone else already made it because it's not new. I've had it happen to me plenty of times before where people beat me to making something. The whole bolt action concept was really something I wanted to introduce myself but Zak took it and made one first.

The trigger looks not like mine.  Either way, don't care.  This is where I say ignorance rules.  So whatever.

Lol you kidding? It's near exactly the same. Look closely. I'm getting tired of your whole "I don't care...whatever" crap. You use it when you don't have anything better to say. You make it sound like you're trying to act cool or something when really you're acting like that kid that fails at everything so he makes it look like it doesn't matter. Everything matters. You get so defensive about your guns but are so willing to judge others. You mention your guns left and right all the time to get attention to them for doing something yet when anyone else does it to you you don't care. I'm sick of it. Stop making it look like (look closely I'm not saying you are I'm saying it looks like you are) you're really egotistic.

Lol it sucked. Just barely worked. I may make another bolt action some time but until I have a ground breaking idea that beats the ZKAR it ain't happening.

Dude, you don't have to ask him if you can post a gun.

I respect people's opinions. I do notice that oodammo pistols are getting fairly repetitive without any coming really close to the MeZak in function. I kind of want to get it over with if possible. I'm just trying to determine what would make a perfect oodammo pistol seeing how so many people make their own with one unique feature that people like but the rest isn't anything great.

I would like to point out that I posted the first Oodammo gun here on ibles. But I do get what you are saying.

actually it was the dunkis with his oodasault pistol

lol yeah no problem. I was one of the first to make one period. I only showed it on KI and my forum though. I think BB was making one at the same time. He still credited me for something though when he posted his so I'm not sure. I completely redesigned it and posted that version here. A few other guns soon followed after the oodammo repeater "fad" caught on.

Ok, cool. So make that I posted the second Oodammo gun on ibles.

I posted my OSSR on ibles, then Knexguy posted his USP slideshow.

Gilrostwo posted one before you. But just so you know I didn't see knexguys USP till after I posted TBAP.

I didn't count that one because it was just a mod of someone else's gun.

K'NEX has it's limitations, if you were only to see new and different guns there would be a lot less of them about. New developments aren't that easy, but they come from experimentation with the established. It's important for people to learn the basics, but your topic isn't without validity.

I meant that all the good gun mechanisms have probably been built by now. Most of the best designs that use them have been done. Really new and cool stuff isn't going to happen often, so your (theoretical) choice is: hardly anything, or the same old stuff?
But, people making the same old stuff might learn something new, which is why it's important to do it, if not actually publish it.

I find it easier to think of mods after I post initial concept pictures of my gun.

That's why I mod things so darn much. If I don't like it, I mod it. That's another thing that brings new things to mind when creating something.

If there's a way, there's a way to do it better.

I figured out how to make a barrel (that actually guides the oodammo) After the mag! Well, you use the shotbow idea, and put just one mag on, not two, and make a barrel after it! If you don't get it, i might take a pic or something.

Happy making better oodammo guns!

I don't think it will, and I don't think it should.

I am sometimes perceived as a K'NEX-hater by some members, but it can be a raw material for some very creative and original projects (see the recent solar-powered alarm "clock").

My only genuine gripe about K'NEX is the tendency to revel in poor grammar and text-speak.

The grammar and text speak is not directly related to the product, just the people who use it.

I realise that, but some of them just will not be told, despite the site rules.

I still get hateful replies (from new K'NEXers) to comments I made a year or more ago that offered advice on the grammar or spelling in an ible.

Most of these kids are very young, probably too young to know about COPPA or "Nettiquite"

Select as Best AnswerUndo Best Answer

user
Kiteman (author)DJ Radio2009-11-26

It's nothing to do with COPPA (I had to google that), but it is their age.  Generalising, I know, but the younglings do seem loath to follow any rules they can break without getting grounded.

"My only genuine gripe about K'NEX is the tendency to revel in poor grammar and text-speak."
Absolutely. I wish the site could be more effective at monitoring that sort of thing. But with so many users, I don't see how it could really be done.

I beg to differ.  They were proven to work on the first internet organized knex war, and they get more power and accuracy than ordinary knex handguns.
