Old Renco Optical Encoder Wiring with DB29 Connection Answered
Today, I went out and found this old Renco Optical Encoder. At three dollars Canadian, we might as well have a go at it, eh? Unfortunately, my search concerning information on this thing hasn't gone too far.
My question is, does anyone know how to wire this up and what data it gives out? I was hoping to use it with an Arduino, but it depends if this would work. The connector has been identified as a DB29, and has the following written on it:
MFD. BY THE RENCO CORPORATION
CODE IDENTIFICATION NUMBER 34479
MODEL NUMBER 25AE - 3/5 SPL - 7A3 - S
UNITED STATES POSTAL SERVICE ASSY. NO. 199506
SERIAL NO. D1174 / DATE 7704
If you've got any info regarding such encoder, please reply!
