Open Discussion of Chatroom Moderation Techniques Answered

As chatroom mods, we try to keep the chatroom up to snuff. Sifting out the bad, making the room presentable to new members. So, speaking for all of the moderators in the Instructables Chatroom, how well/bad/mediocre are we doing our jobs? Is there anything we can improve on, would you like to join us, and be a mod? Make your voice heard!

That only takes pressure in to account... what about the amount of surface area involved...

My...a bit forceful, aren't we?

Don't blame me, Adrian told me to be more punny!

That's not quantifying them, they're not units, more like qualitative measure... Like untouched would be zero units of touch... Maybe farps...

I don't mind, but I guess my trustworthiness is in question by some. Which is ok. :-) I am hard to offend.

ROFLOL.

1) IDK who gave you that impression, but I doubt it's true.

2) Well, shoot, if we're talking about making DJ Radio a mod, I mean, it's ridiculous to say we can't give you a shot.

GH is never in the room, so he's high risk, he might go crazy with power, so he needs a campaign. You don't.

Me? I have moderated chat rooms long time ago, and it was a complaint of some that I didn't do much moderation :-)

But if someone got out of hand, I pulled no punches. '

I personally think that we do need more mods, and that you would make a good one. I think we're still spread just a tad thin.

The chatroom lost all its flavor when the mods came around.... It used to have a fun feel, which was lost when we had more than 1 mod....Now even regular joking is considered offensive.............And I find most of the joking that is considered offensive G-rated content for god's sake! The mods are just too strict round here...........My opinions of them are mixed.... dont mention it........

What I love is that you are a part of the conversation rather than being cranky policemen and policewomen like on other forums and chat rooms.

I think you should be a cranky policewoman. That would be funny...."Bad Nacho, No chat for you!!!"

Jake is doing a MOST EXCELLENT JOB! Bumpus could enforce the rules a bit more, and as for Adrian, I can't really say, since we're never on at the same time. Also, I would like to nominate myself for mod status.
