Open Source Design Software? Answered

Hello Instructables forum,

I'm wondering if anyone knows of some nice open source design software? I'm in the process of creating my next instructable (a dining table) and would like to design some legs on the computer before making them.

Cheers,
Chris

There is google Sketchup or autodesk 123D. Although, I prefer pencil and paper.

Pencil and paper is often overlooked.

Most of my laser cut prohects started as a rough hand sketch, scanned and pasted into Inkscape or proprietary software.

Not open source, but Autodesk's Autocad is free for 30 days:

Then there's Tinkercad, free and online: https://tinkercad.com/

Or Sketchup: http://www.sketchup.com/
