PDF Downloads Answered

Hello, I am a new Pro user and when I try to download Instructables PDF's I am directed back to the PDF download page. Some Instructables will allow me to download their PDF's however. I don't see anything common to the instructables that either work or don't, so I am pretty confused. If it helps at all, the custom PDF download does not work at all. Thanks for the help.

Sorry for the frustration!

I believe this is a caching issue, and it would be very helpful if you could give specific PDFs that you are having trouble downloading.

Looks like your first payment failed.  Try it again with a different card.

I also have the same problem.I cannot download any PDF's or view steps on a single page. I have paid for a 2 year Pro Membership, but am not recognised as a Pro Member. Do you know of the solution? I have notice that there are a lot of people who have had the same problem, but no solutions seem to have been posted, as far as I can find. I have reported the problem and got a response from the robot, promising that a human will read my message. No reply as yet.

To continue:
I how either cut and paste in OpenOffice writer or I print to PDF.  Both result in the loss of the small pictures under the larger ones.  Any help with this problem would be appreciated.

Hi There... I have been a Pro User for sometime now and have changed to Fedora Linux 10... I was never pleased with the PDF results but at least I could download them by right clicking and clicking Save As.

Since changing to Fedora Linux 10, if I right click and click Save As the file name appears as (for example)

FcitMiJQ.html.part        instead of
Send-and-Receive-Encrypted-E-mail-in-Gmail.pdf

This happens with all the PDF links I have tried to use.  Instead I left click.  But that ends in error when I try to open the files:

error message
"Encrypted Document
This document is encrypted and can't be accessed. Please enter the document's password:"  using ePDFViewer

error message
"Unable to open document
File type HTML document (text/html) is not supported" using Document Viewer
(Most likely because it is encrypted still)

Hi, I just joined as well and am trying to either 'view all on one page' or see it in PDF format.  Both prompt me to become a PRO member.

Here are the instructables I am looking at:

The "Make your own lathe from other people's trash" in the latest 'newsletter' is one that exhibits this problem (real bummer when I want to build a lathe...)

I've seen no resolution. Which is disappointing, as the PDF downloads are touting as being on of the "flagship" features for being a pro member. It is indeed the main reason I went pro

Can you post links to the Instructables that you're having problems accessing the PDF's?
